Rental Rights modify the use rights of the underlying Windows or Microsoft Office licenses to allow renting or leasing of the software, which is generally prohibited under the standard license terms for those products. Examples of these organizations include Internet cafés, hotels and airport kiosks, business service centers, and office equipment leasing companies. The Rental Rights license from Microsoft permits organizations, as part of their businesses, to rent, lease, or loan PCs with licensed, qualifying versions of Windows desktop operating systems and/or Microsoft Office to third parties.
